My Project

I would like to teach my English Language Learning students about farm life and how we raise animals. This will go along with our unit of learning about animals and their habitats.

Students will get to see how baby chicks grow, how we take care of them in our classroom, and then when they are big enough we will take them to the farm and see how they will be raised there.

This is such a neat experience because unless you go visit a farm you do not just walk outside and see farm life. My students from other countries have had chickens living at their houses or they raise them outside their houses and this brings a sense of home to them.

These supplies will help us adequately and properly take care of the chicks while they are growing until it is time to release them to the farm.

In addition to watching them grow and learning about them, we read various fiction and non-fiction books and have writing assignments that coincide with this project.
