My Project

My students have a variety of sensory needs and chewing on different objects and textures is one of them. You may wonder why let them chew on things. Chewing and biting object can be sensory seeking and/or a part of stimming behaviors. They also help my students when they are anxious, angry or even just bored.

A chewy can help students manage their energy and help prevent tantrums.

The chewy will enable my students experience different textures that they may not otherwise try in foods. They will help a student feel more secure in new and different environments. The use of a chewy within the classroom has benefited my students in the ways above and many more ways.
