My Students

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is comprised of a diverse group of students coming from different backgrounds and socioeconomic circumstances. My students are full of life, energy, and ambition. In my classroom of 21 students you will find aspiring scientists, pilots, teachers, police officers, nurses, and presidents.

While they do not lack the desire or ability to be successful, they do lack the resources that will allow them to fulfill their potential.

Providing my students with the technology to excel will help put them on the path to success.

My Project

We need ten tablets which will make a difference in my students’ learning and improve their school lives. Lets be honest, five year olds just want to have fun! What better way to have fun in the classroom than engaging in games and activities while learning at the same time? Being a kindergarten teacher taught me how important it is to create a fun, exciting, and stimulating learning environment for my students.

Tablets will allow my students to explore educational programs such as NearPod, iReady, Code.org, Reflex Math, MyOn which will provide individualized lessons catering to each students’ learning needs.

As a STEM teacher with no access to technology in my classroom it is difficult to incorporate the learning material and lesson plans necessary. It is unfortunate to see students from other schools excelling through the use of technology while my students fall at a disadvantage. I am excited by the opportunity to provide my students with technology in the classroom.
