This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your high school Chemistry class? Hopefully you had the opportunity to perform lab experiments. I have inherited a Chemistry lab with almost no equipment.

I have wonderful students.

They are curious and love to do labs. Unfortunately, we have had to limit our labs (severely) due to lack of equipment. My students come alive when they have the opportunity to perform an experiment. Unfortunately it is hard to come up with labs in Chemistry without any basic equipment.

My Project

Just the basics: We need thermometers (students didn't know how to use analog thermometers), stopwatches, beakers, flasks, and basic tools. Ideally each lab station would have a basic lab equipments set. Your gift would help provide a thermometer, stopwatch, rulers, beakers and some other basic tools.

So many of my students have not had enough lab experience to prepare them for any university or community college science class.

They are respectful and careful with what little lab equipment we have (a scale, one thermometer and a few beakers).
