This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their insatiable curiosity and their unwavering dedication to learning something new every day. Each student brings a unique perspective and skill set to the table, enriching our learning environment with diverse insights and approaches.

Forensic and pharmaceutical chemistry are dynamic fields that blend scientific principles with real-world applications, offering a unique blend of intrigue, discovery and problem-solving.

With the resources I am requesting, I aim to enhance their learning experience and empower them to delve deeper into the fascinating realms of forensic and pharmaceutical chemistry.

Crime Scene Investigation Materials: The crime scene tape, body silhouette, markers, fingerprint chart, and chromatography paper will immerse students in realistic scenarios, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. The flint strikers will enable students to perform flame tests to identify unknown powders, honing their analytical skills and attention to detail. They will learn how to analyze evidence, collect data, and draw conclusions, mimicking the work of real forensic chemists.

Chemistry Lab Supplies: The reusable batteries, battery charger, flint strikers, colored printer paper, and short lightning cables will equip our chemistry lab with essential tools for conducting experiments. The flint strikers, in particular, will enable students to perform flame tests to identify unknown powders, honing their analytical skills and attention to detail.

Pharmaceutical Lab Equipment: The sign holders, medicine pill bottles, digital scales, empty pill capsules, and pill counting trays will transform our classroom into a pharmaceutical laboratory. Students will gain hands-on experience in compounding medications, measuring dosages accurately, and understanding the importance of proper labeling, packaging, and patient care.
