My Students

The majority of my students are English language learners and come from immigrant families. They are from an economically disadvantaged area in Los Angeles County. Due to their economic hardships, many of them have to work and fulfill other responsibilities at home in order to help their families.

Nonetheless, they are eager learners who work hard to be leaders in their community.

They aim to be the first in their families to go to college and graduate despite their hardships.

My Project

My students need goggles and glassware to safely perform the chemistry experiments necessary to prepare them for STEM careers.

The goggles that I am currently using are old and are not completely protecting students from potential chemical splashes.

They fall off my students' faces and have holes, which makes me worry about their physical safety. As for the glassware, it is to replace the broken ones because without proper glassware, the students will not be able to perform future laboratory experiments in the classroom.

With this donation, I can ensure my students' safety in the classroom whenever we are performing laboratory experiments because we will be using the appropriate goggles and glassware.
