Help me give my students the tools necessary to work in the kitchen. The measuring cups and mixer will allow the teachers to show students the life skills necessary in the kitchen.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Every day in my school is an adventure. My students are full of life and have taught me that growth of any kind is good. We always cherish even the small victories because we all learn differently.
"Fair means everyone gets what they need, not everyone gets the same!" Working in special education this is especially true.
My students have struggled with learning in the traditional school setting. As a result of their disabilities, anxiety, or emotions, learning is an intense process.
My Project
The students in my program are all special education students grades 6-12 who lack the life skills necessary to take care of themselves in the real world. Our school has a full kitchen which allows the opportunity for life skills classes which provide instruction in cooking.
The ability to cook for oneself is an essential skill which will help to make our students more successful in the real-world.
Students have been cooking lunch once a week and we are looking at increasing this to daily and rotating different classes through the kitchen to both cook and clean. This will allow us to teach the life skill, hygiene, and manners that can be difficult in a classroom setting.
Unfortunately, despite our best laid plans, we are struggling due to a lack of equipment. Many of the meals we would like to teach the students would be much easier if we had the equipment I am requesting. For example, the oven mitts are essential to ensure that students are safe in the kitchen. The mixer makes it easier for students to make the large batches that are necessary when feeding the entire school.
