Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our cheerleaders come in many shapes and sizes. This shouldn't affect their ability to be athletic and be involved in cheer, yet it does. Cheer is a high impact sport. It's a team sport of constant jumping, lifting, rolling, arm swinging, running and more. These combinations can be quite painful to our girls as their chest develops and matures. Sports bras that are high impact will assist in this matter. Cheerleading is an expensive sport and sometimes the extra added items are, for example, include the need for a high impact sports bra, which is very costly. We want our athletes to have all the proper gear so that they can have the confidence to be their best. Lastly, help us give that extra need gear to athletes whose families are unable to provide for them.
Cheerleading may seem like just a fun pastime, but it actually has significant benefits for confidence development.
Participating in cheerleading has helped our students build a strong sense of teamwork, communication, and leadership skills, as well as physical fitness. Cheerleading involves learning and mastering complex routines, performing in front of crowds, and dealing with the pressure of competition. These skills can translate to various aspects of life, including school, work, and personal relationships.
Additionally, being part of a cheerleading team can foster a sense of belonging and camaraderie, leading to increased self-esteem and confidence. Overall, the sport provides a unique and valuable opportunity to develop my students' not only physical abilities but also important personal qualities.
