Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The cheerleading bags will provide our 25 cheerleaders in the South Bronx with a sense of pride, organization, and team identity. Having designated bags for their cheerleading gear will help students stay organized and prepared, minimizing distractions caused by lost or misplaced items. These bags will also contribute to fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie, which are essential for building self-confidence and teamwork skills. For students in an underfunded area, receiving these resources shows them they are supported and valued, enhancing their overall school experience.

Our cheerleaders are resilient, talented, and spirited young individuals who bring energy and positivity to our school community.

Despite facing challenges like limited access to resources, they show up with dedication and enthusiasm. They represent the heart of our school, inspiring their peers and bringing joy to school events. Their hard work deserves to be recognized and supported, and I want them to feel as valued as the efforts they put into cheering for their peers and school.

My goals are to:

1. Empower Students: Provide cheerleaders with practical tools that enhance their performance and preparation for events.

2. Build Team Unity: Create a stronger team identity through matching gear, which fosters school spirit and pride.

3. Enhance Equity: Ensure that all team members have access to quality materials regardless of their financial situation.
