This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Title I, level I (lowest 25%) Specific Learning Disabled (SLD), Emotionally/Behavioral Disabled (EBD) high school students are in ICU! Yes, some students are enrolled in Intensive Reading Plus! More than 90% of the student population qualifies for free and/or reduced-price lunch. Approximately 80% of the students live in single-family homes.

These 9th and 10th-grade remedial readers attend a Title I school.

There is a negative stigma to Intensive Reading or Intensive Reading Plus classes. Some have Individual Education Plans, while others really struggle to remain proficient in English and Math. For these students inclusion into positive worlds will not only help to close the achievement gap but put much needed academic confidence into the hands of students.

My Project

These motivated cheerleaders are in need of pom poms. We perform pom routines at our games and Pep Rallies and we do not have any PomPoms. Most of the team are in need of cheer shoes as we compete and perform during various High school activities.

We are in need of cheer necessities such as deodorant soap, hair bows and even healthy snacks.

Many cheerleaders tell me cheering is their "Happy Place." I agree. We believe in the 4 A's and are striving to be better in Activities (cheer), Academics, Athletics and the Arts. By funding this project, lives will be enhanced and so will performances.
