My Students

Our classroom is our home away from home. We all come together as a community for lessons and fun activities. However, our resources are limited. We are in need of tools to help meet the needs of each individual learner in our classroom.

Our students come from a wide range of cultures and families.

In our classroom, we are one big family and we are part of a larger school community. Some students struggle with daily academic skills, especially those students who find traditional learning activities difficult. My students need the option of fun, alternative activities and lessons to support their learning styles.

My Project

One flip-chart easel will sit at each table in our classroom. Students will be able to flip though the charts to find the one that will best support them in their current learning. By doing this, students will learn how to be more independent instead of depending on the teacher. The charts would be changed out each unit in reading, writing, and math to match the topics they are learning. The will also include mini-versions of the larger charts we have around the classroom.

Having the multicolored and white cardstock will help me to create bright, durable charts for the students to reference over and over again.

The whiteboard markers will allow students to write on the chart, and then wipe it off when they are done.
