Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school with 552 students, and all of them receive free lunch. Ninety percent of our students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, with a forty percent English Language Learner population at my school. In my first grade class, all of my students are English Language Learners.

My first graders are full of energy, and their curiosity drives our learning.

They get so excited when we are learning about new topics that are related to them and the world around them. Their love and passion for learning is infinite.

My classroom community strives for the best. I believe that all children can learn when one shows them that they are important and that they are special.

My Project

Chart paper is always needed for any presentation. In the classroom, it will be used to document the students' learning and like any living document it will be edited when needed. The charts will be posted around the classroom for students to have as a reference at anytime.

It is crucial for students to learn how to organize as it is a skill that all students need.

The folders will be used by the students to organize their work. The folders are different colors that will be color coded by subject. This will help first grade students to quickly recognize that each color stands for a subject and they will save their work according to color.
