My Project

Kids are like sponges and with the right motivation, they will absorb all kinds of information. As you can imagine, their fascination with technology, i.e. their cellular devices, often impedes their ability to receive and process information provided through guided instruction. Because they have become so attached to their cell phones, it can be difficult at times to keep students off of them during instruction. Having a charging station will benefit both myself, as the educator, and the students!

Charging stations would provide students with both implicit and explicit educational benefits.

While their cellular devices are charging, their minds are being charged as well, as they are engaging in lessons that will keep them on the right track towards success. Charging stations will help build my efforts to provide a learning environment that promotes positive classroom culture. Students will thrive in an atmosphere where they feel safe, are free to speak, and take educational risks. A classroom free of cell phones and the distractions that come with them increases the opportunity to provide that culture for our students.
