Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are high-school-aged children who volunteer their time after school for various activities. They enjoy sports medicine and oftentimes stay after school to help their fellow students with medical care. These medical magnet students are working hard to gain experience in the medical field and are studying a lot. They take advanced science classes and are some of the hardest working kids at our school. They are constantly helping others and pushing each other to do more to serve our school community.

These students often are leaders among their peers and are ready to lend a helping hand to others!

Their selflessness is inspiring daily and keeps everyone at the school motivated to do more and work as a team!

My Project

Our medical students are learning using technology daily. Due to COVID-19, students are logging into their virtual classroom daily and completing assignments on items like tablets, laptops, computers and cell phones. Although technology has been great and we have enjoyed this transition, our students desperately need these items to be charged in order for the devices to be functional.

In order for our classroom to be successful, we need a charging station complete with chargers and extension cords and cables to be set up inside our classroom.

With these new materials, the students that are physically in school will be able to communicate more effectively with those at home. This increased collaboration will lead to better learning outcomes and a more inclusive learning environment for all! Logging into our daily Zoom sessions, participating in Kahoot reviews and having larger class discussions are some of the activities that will be easier to perform once we have our charging station set up! Students will be able to learn more about First Aid and different health occupations once they are able to truly engage in the class without having to worry about their devices losing battery and shutting off. Please help us get this project fulfilled!
