My Students

My first grade class has 20 curious and bright young minds in a rural community in Oklahoma. They love using a variety of tools to practice the skills they are working in our classroom.

My students have a unique start to their educational journey.

They have never experienced a Pre-pandemic educational experience in a public school. Being first graders, they have learned to navigate a chrome book and technology based programs that are incorporated into their daily academic curriculum. With the use of this technology also comes the knowledge and responsibility of taking care of the chrome books. They are eager to learn new programs and take an active role in their educational journey that involves the technology they use daily.

My Project

Despite many of the negative impacts of COVID-19 in education, it has provided the opportunity for each of my students to have access to their own chrome book in class, rather than sharing only a few in years prior.

By providing charging stations for the students, it will allow them to take responsibility in the upkeep and care of their chrome books in the classroom.

It will help them take an active role in keeping the technology organized and make the chrome books more accessible for the students to retrieve +to complete assignments and practice skills on select programs without teacher assistance, as the current setup in class requires for the storage and charging of the class set of chrome books.
