Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the brightest third-graders you will ever meet. They come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn.

My class consists of 40 students.

Of those 40, I had the privilege of teaching them in the previous school year. They were an eager, young bunch and I am excited for our new adventure this school year.

My Project

Due to the pandemic and the difficulty many students faced last year, my goal is to provide my students with the basic classroom supplies they need in order to thrive academically and address their specific special needs. My students come to school eager to learn, however many of them lack the basic school supplies needed in order to accomplish their objectives. I wish to provide my students with basic supplies such as primary composition notebooks in order to successfully engage in journal writing, using writing passages in response to racial equity related prompts and engage in the STEAM projects that give my students authentic opportunities to make their voices heard in an effort to break down systemic oppression. Upon completion, these projects will be typed and submitted to our class discussion board. The laptop charging station would help organize and keep our laptops charged up and ready for student use. These materials together with the ink will be used to keep our students motivated and successful as they engage in their academic endeavors. This will promote a culture of racial equity by engaging in inquiry based learning activities that elevate students' voices and experiences.

Basic classroom supplies are essential in a classroom in order to promote a successful academic environment.

Having the right supplies and materials is essential. When it comes to your classroom, the smallest details make the biggest difference. By having the necessary supplies requested above, students will be able to excel academically, address their specific special needs, and will increase their studying skills. The requested materials will allow all students to be actively engaged in their learning as they focus on the task at hand.
