My Students

Our school is located in a part of New York City where income inequality is impossible to miss and the digital divide is real. Small expenses that don't seem like they would be a problem for many families can sometimes be a problem for ours. One of these small expenses is replacing lost or damaged iPad chargers.

Remote learning has been a challenge for our students and small expenses like replacing a lost or damaged iPad charger can affect whether or not a student can log into their classroom or submit assignments online.

It would be extremely helpful to have a supply of chargers on hand to distribute as they are needed. The chargers can also be helpful in classrooms for devices being used for in-person learning. I am requesting 25 chargers to keep in my room and distribute as needed throughout the year.

My Project

At our school in Brooklyn, the digital divide is real. Small expenses like replacing a lost or damaged charger can strain a family's resources, especially in these days of Covid-19 when many members of our school community have experienced job loss and food insecurity.

Help my students always be able to charge their iPads at home so they can reliably access their digital classrooms and submit their assignments online.
