Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The second graders in my class love to read! They deserve access to books featuring characters whose identities match their own. The books you'll be donating to our classroom reflect a wide range of cultures, races, families, religions, and languages.

Reading these stories will help students develop empathy and understanding for others and themselves.

When readers encounter a character who looks like them and experiences the world in a similar way to how they do, it is a powerful and validating experience. Furthermore, exposure to different perspectives broadens students’ understanding of the world, challenging stereotypes and encouraging critical thinking. Please consider donating to help get these wonderful titles into the hands of wonderful second graders.
