Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello and hola! Our Dual Language Immersion School enriches the lives of 225 students in both English and Spanish. Our Title I school serves grades K-5. My students are hard-working, fun, and creative! They love to learn, but we have a wide range when it comes to academic levels. Most of my students are from homes that are considered to be at the poverty level.

My school is one of the highest poverty level schools in my district.

Empowering all students to thrive and achieve within a child-centered, dual immersion community is our school's vision. Our mission is to create a safe, positive environment that nurtures the growth and development of the whole child, empowering them to reach their full potential.

My Project

As a diverse school, we have many students from many different backgrounds and cultures. We would like to invite a special visitor for an assembly so we can “Take A Stand” and learn about anti-bullying, conflict resolution, and the importance of self-expression. We will also learn about ways to solve tough situations and empowers them to confide in trusted adults.

It is an important lesson to learn about being kind, inclusive, and welcoming to all, even if they are different!

Not only are these important skills to learn but it is also important to discuss how bullying effects us and what we can do to prevent it. This special visitor will help my students learn these lesson in a fun, engaging, active way.
