This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my 2nd grade classroom, I have a wide range of abilities and needs. While I have students on IEP’s who are in need of modified work and extra support, I also have students in my class who are reading at a grade level above. These students need resources and materials to help continue their growth. I have 5 students in my room who are currently participating in an independently run book club. They partner read a chapter and answer comprehension questions together. However, we do not have many book sets at my school. My kids are in need of exciting, captivating books that will help them continue to exceed in reading.
