My Students

Ninety-eight percent of the students in my school receive free or reduced-price lunches. Our Title I school is populated with almost 350 students. Our students need motivation throughout the year. Students who exhibit positive lifelong habits, such as reading, make my heart skip a beat.

My students are fun-loving and eager to learn.

Once they enter our doors, they become our future. They are curious and fearless all at the same time. Our scholars are at a turning point in their lives since COVID. They have been forced to make changes to adapt to our new norm. It is key that they continue to keep reading and show comprehension while learning through real-life experiences.

My Project

March Book Madness is on the horizon! The theme this year is a turning point.

I can't wait to start to share these books with our scholars to continue to build their character and prepare them for the future.

This investment into our future will be promising through shared storytime.

These books will be used to provide opportunities for children to experience important learning. This includes learning that we can exercise control during change. It also includes important life skills such as being able to communicate worries and concerns, identifying and self-regulating feelings, how to problem-solve, and most importantly, how to be resilient.

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
