Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm raising funds for my movement body awareness class to help kids in low-income communities discover the joy of physical activity. Many of these students are eager to learn, and excited to try new things, but they often lack access to diverse activities that promote health and well-being.

The funds will be used to introduce them to engaging options like combatives, which not only get their hearts pumping but builds confidence and teamwork skills.

By supporting this initiative, you're helping create a positive, enriching environment where these kids can thrive and develop a lifelong appreciation for movement and fitness.

We are currently in our first unit of the semester which provides the students exposure to a non-traditional activity like yoga. For second semester, I'd like to expose the students to non-contact combatives to help develop their hand eye coordination, self esteem, and expose them to non-traditional fitness options.
