My Students

STRETCH students minds think differently, not only in the classroom, but also at recess. My students need different activities to help keep them challenged while they are interacting with others at recess. The materials selected have many possibilities and will allow the students to really think!

My students attend a school for gifted students.

This is the first year that they have been able to be with large groups of gifted students their own age. They enjoy challenges that are different so that they can problem solve and learn to work with others.

My Project

OGO sports disks can be used in multiple ways, they can be used for regular Frisbee, with Super Loops for Frisbee golf, or with our younger students they can build motor skills by adding small balls and making mini trampolines, or for games of catch or even for juggling. The Grabball, flagbelts and parachutes provide multiple opportunities for the students to use their creativity to develop activities of their own.

While our program has been in existence for over twenty years, having our students in a school by themselves is a new experience.

Budget cuts have severely impacted our program. Our physical education department has lent us some recess equipment, but we've had many students asking for more activities.
