My Students

For the 2018 - 2019 school year, my fourth grade students are becoming young leaders. They are learning and growing academically, socially and emotionally. My students love working in partners to build new skills. They help one another and challenge each other to do better. It has been wonderful moving from third grade last year to fourth grade this year with the same class.

I teach in a diverse, urban neighborhood school where many students are not able to practice skills at home.Many parents want to help students, but do not know how.

My school is a Title I school and every student receives free breakfast and lunch daily. To create the best learning environment for my students, it is essential to get new and engaging supplies into their hands.

My Project

The ETA Hand2Mind Math Kit provides my students with new and exciting ways to practice their math strategies. While I love teaching math, some of my students need extra practice in foundational skills. The challenges of the fourth grade math curriculum take students from basic multiplication to fractions, decimals and beyond! I'm hoping to give my students new games and strategies that they can use to become the best math thinkers they can be.

When learning new skills, students learn best by learning and doing.

They will be able to practice skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division through fun games that they can play together. The best part of this math kit is that all the materials are ready to go into the hands of learners!
