My Project

When I was student teaching, my cooperating teacher had lots of flexible seating available for her students to pick from: floor seats, rocking chairs, wobble cushions, bouncy balls and more! She created a routine with the students and when they arrived to school in the morning. They could pick whatever seat they felt like sitting in for the day. I knew that once I became a teacher, I wanted to incorporate flexible seating. This is my second year inside the classroom with flexible seating and it is a hit every year!

Student's should not have to sit in hard and uncomfortable chairs for 8 hours everyday.

I know that when I was in elementary school I hated sitting in my chair. I wanted to move and I know that my students do too. Traditional seating is no longer conducive in a modern classroom and that is why I am asking for different flexible seating options for my students. We need swivel mesh chairs, balance ball seats and a bean bag chair.
