Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is HUGE for a Kindergarten to 5th Grade building...we have almost 1,200 students! Which means, we have the opportunity to shape THAT many lives, futures, and dreams! In our mission statement, we speak about the importance of developing literate individuals.

Literacy surrounds us in so many ways, and it is our job as teachers to find, mold, and facilitate it to meet the needs of students in the best ways possible!

Teachers in our building are EXCITED to come to school every day to explore all of the possibilities of bring learning to life. It is that EXCITEMENT that we hope to model for our students, and to help them create a love of learning for the rest of their lives.

My Project

We use centers across all K-2 classrooms. We have literacy centers, math centers, and have begun work around Social Studies centers. Small group work has so much value in our school, especially since many of our classrooms have students in a wide range of academic levels. Using centers throughout the school day makes learning accessible to students of all levels.

A laminator helps ensure that the centers we spend time creating and printing can last for years and years to come.

We would also be able to use some of the centers created for students in Kindergarten with the struggling learners in 2nd grade. Lastly, with laminated centers, our school can use less paper since it allows us to create activities that use dry erase markers and dry erase crayons.
