My Students

My kindergarteners are in an ICT (Computer Science) program that teaches computer science in an Inclusive Teaching Classroom. My classroom includes 20 students including myself and my co-teacher. My students come from different backgrounds and range in many different academic levels. My goals for my students are to create a safe, supportive, orderly, and creative environment for my students and emphasize the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development of each child. The first step to accomplishing these goals is by setting up a classroom!

My Project

Center time is an important part of our Kindergarten classroom . During center time students are given the opportunity to explore a variety of areas including the math, science, and dramatic play centers. In my project cart you will find household toy furniture to enhance the children's imagination (e.g., kitchen area or dress up). Center time is essential to children's development and learning in early childhood. By creating an area that inspires the children to create and imagine what is possible, we support their growth and build their confidence.When children participate in dramatic play they are able to deepen their understanding of the world. It helps them build relationships, express themselves through language and literacy, and helps them grow cognitively through the use of abstract thinking.
