My Students

In our classroom centers are a way of life. Students do daily reading centers where they participate in writing, listening, poetry, sight word and reading activities. We also use centers to cover multiple math concepts each day.

My students are a ball of energy that need to be constantly in motion.

Centers help them attend to multiple subjects while staying within their attention span. They enjoy being able to work with their classmates and play the games that are incorporated into each set of centers. When my students play they also play hard. This has caused some of our materials to become extremely worn and fragile. I don't want to have to take away the materials without having replacements available.

My Project

My students need more materials for our centers such as 8 headphones, 2 CD players, non-fiction text, and skill-building math games. Each of the materials requested will go directly into our center rotations. Students are really enjoying reading non-fiction at this time of the year. Having more books to share will not only expand their knowledge base but it will allow everyone to have great material to read, thus cutting down on our arguing over books. The CD players will be used at our leveled listening center. The headphones will be utilized at both the listening center and our laptop center, where students work on skill based computer programs. Lastly, the math materials will each be put into their own center. All of these materials will be utilized during our daily centers. Students will also have the option of using them during our indoor recesses, as well as when they finish their other assignments early.

My students have a thirst for information and fun.

By donating to this project you are helping to put materials into their hands. Not only will their learning be greatly affected but so will the atmosphere of our room. These students play hard and learn by hands-on activities. Please help us replace, increase, and continue their learning by donating materials.
