Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school. My first grade class is an ICT, which integrates special education and general education. Our classroom has a mix of students with disabilities and general education students. We have an array of abilities in our classroom. Some students are below grade level, some are approaching grade level and some are even above grade level. Although our kids are frustrated on many different levels, I hope to strive and create a classroom that is fun, exciting and conducive to learning.

My Project

During center time my students have the option to play games to refine their skills in word development and math.

Unfortunately we do not have many games that are interactive, so I usually have to print out and laminate games which takes a lot of time and aren't very sturdy.

Our students will be so excited to have the opportunity to play interactive games while learning addition, subtraction, number recognition, sight words and building words. These games will encourage my students to master their abilities. The magnet fishing pole games will most likely be their favorite since the students will have to fish for numbers and words they recognize. The read the clock game will support in developing their time recognition. The spin-a-roo game will help their build on sorting and counting for students who struggle with that ability.
