Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our goal in the Dual Language Classrooms is to promote respect and inclusivity for the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and customs of our students.

Through literacy, social studies and the arts teach about the different traditions in the Latin American and Caribbean countries such as Christmas (Navidad), Three Kings Day (Día de los Reyes), and the Carnaval.

Students will use the materials to engage in read alouds (books that explain traditions), parades using musical instruments (maracas, bells) and costumes (crowns), cultural pieces (whistles), and arts and crafts (ornaments, christmas baggies, crowns).
