I teach 25 pretty awesome second-grade scholars and I love each and every one of them.
Every one of these students is special and unique in their own way. Most speak fluent Spanish and are beginning to learn the English language. Some come from homes where a grandparent is their primary caretaker. A couple of scholars belong to our nutrition club, a program where they are sent home with a backpack of food to help feed their families over the weekend. But, while they have their own challenges, every single family sends their child to school prepared to learn every day. I take my job very seriously and want nothing but the best for my scholars. While I may have high expectations of behavior and student work, all of my scholars know I care about each one of them.
My Project
I am requesting a wireless printer that will be stationed in our class and would be used to print from anywhere my students are. This printer will be a game changer because my scholars will have immediate access to leveled text, teacher and student generated rubrics, materials to support parents and even colored Lexia milestone certificates celebrating achievements! Scholars will be more motivated to continue their hard work in class with minimal interruption that it normally would take to make copies on my break.
I know my scholars and parents will appreciate the seamless work and communication that having my own printer will be able to provide.
