Celebrating Our Diversity

Help me give my students diversity and inclusion books to read and share, organization pieces for our classroom, certificates to recognize students, journals and creative materials including multicultural colored pencils and markers!

My Students

My students attend an inner city alternative school that teaches “ at promise” kids who are struggling behaviorally and academically. They often arrive each day with challenges most of us cannot comprehend- broken homes, generational poverty, homelessness, mental illness and hopelessness. My job is to educate, love and inspire.

Everyone deserves a second chance and my students teach me that every single day!

I want to provide the most engaging resources and learning environment possible for each and every student.

My Project

Our goal is to provide a comfortable safe classroom setting along with individual educational support. The organizer items create an inviting classroom where students can access items they need readily.

The requested inclusion and diversity book titles allow teaching life lessons and skills through literacy which always empower and help engage students in conversation and understanding.

These books will be used in conjunction with our Second Steps Social Emotional curriculum. The books will be used in group time and well as be available to take home and share with the family. The notebooks and multicultural pencils and markers will be used for journaling along side daily group time.
