This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the pleasure of helping middle school English language learners develop excellent academic English skills in pursuit of life-long success. Language learners work for years to pass the rigorous English exam. All students have just completed the annual summative exam that is required by the State Dept. of Education.

English language learners are hard-working students who deserve special recognition!

For that reason, I am requesting some snack items that will be awarded to students who have completed this challenging year and worked hard to demonstrate their English skills through the ELPAC - a worthy, but high-bar exam. I have worked with language learners for years, and I have seen them go from strength to strength when they have a year of focused instruction. I believe they deserve a reward for this accomplishment, so this is a token gift to help them celebrate.
