My Students

Our school is located in an urban area that serves a majority students from the surrounding neighborhood. Other students are bused in from other areas. Our Title I students represents 65.5% of our student population. Free or reduced such accounts for 71.7% of our school demographic. In addition we have 14 students in temporary housing. Despite this data, our students are hard working and successful students who perform well on State exams.

My Project

The titles selected for this Donor's Choose project will play an integral role in educating our students in diversity and uniqueness. Each title was selected to demonstrate the diverse landscape of our school community.

Our school welcomes and celebrates all cultures, genders, and religious beliefs while building self esteem through character building and self acceptance.

Students will be able to identify with the diverse characters and personalities presented in each title. It is imperative that students see their stories, their cultures, and their experiences reflected in the literature around their schools and library.
