Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My fifth grade students are today's scholars and tomorrow's leaders who are curious, enthusiastic, creative, and eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge! In addition to academics, our students practice making positive human connections with daily choices that support R.I.S.E.—Respect, Integrity, Safety, and Excellence, and they are recognized monthly for demonstrating these character traits.

One of our social studies goals is to study traditions of various cultures and celebrate diversity.

We are requesting books that will introduce students to the Lunar New Year’s history and customs, helping to build cultural awareness. Rice cookers, bowls, and chopsticks to eat rice, which will educate students about the tradition of using chopsticks, and good luck coins to place in red envelopes that will allow them to experience another aspect of the celebration.

Thank you very much for making time to read our project, and for your generosity in making this wish a reality for our children. I am so appreciative of any help you are able to offer!
