Help me give my students books that teach about racial justice. Books like Lil' Libros: Vamonos, which teach about diverse Latino cultures. Students learn to treat others fairly regardless of how they look or where they come from.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will open a new world to my little first graders. Through these books students will learn about racial justice, about how to treat others with acceptance and respect no matter who they are or how they look.
Students will gain an appreciation of their own culture and the culture of others.
These books will teach compassion and acceptance of newcomers, refugees and immigrants. Students will learn about how life is in other parts of the world; this will help them open up, share their own story of diversity and gain an appreciation for their own culture, differing cultures in the classroom, and the culture of others around the world.
