My Project

This project proposal is for the inclusion of oil sticks in the curriculum for our Drawing 2 program at our high school. As an art educator deeply committed to providing enriching and innovative learning experiences for our students, I believe that integrating oil sticks into our curriculum will greatly enhance their artistic development and broaden their understanding of various mediums. Oil sticks are a great bridge between drawing and painting.

Oil sticks combine the versatility of drawing with the richness of painting, offering a unique opportunity for students to experiment with layering, blending, and texture application.

This project will empower students to expand their creative horizons and develop a deeper appreciation for the nuanced possibilities that oil sticks provide.

In this project we will focus on 3 objectives

1. Skill Development: Incorporating oil sticks will allow students to refine their drawing techniques by working with a medium that offers a wide range of expressive possibilities, from fine lines to bold strokes.

2. Exploration of Color and Texture: Students will gain a deeper understanding of color theory and the manipulation of texture in their artwork, as oil sticks can be layered and blended to achieve intricate visual effects.

3. Engagement and Motivation: The introduction of a new and exciting medium like oil sticks is likely to spark enthusiasm and engagement among our students, motivating them to invest more time and effort into their artistic endeavors.
