Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

About My Students

Our Virtual Enterprise class students are trained to run and operate their own business in the classroom. The classroom and students are divided into several business departments such as Sales and Marketing, Finance, Management and Human Resource.

The Human Resource Department, led by honor roll seniors, Tanajah, Ayanna, Fransico, Justice, and Jose. This student-led HR department has been working hard all year long inspiring the other employees to enhance their in school and on the job performance while running their virtual firm; leading them to generally work harder and smarter, and allowing them to complete tasks efficiently, properly, and on deadline—all of which positively impact the organization. They want to celebrate their firms success and at the same inspire the younger grades so they will will want to take over their business next year and keep "Teen Tech Toys" growing!

With our simulated business curriculum our students manage and run their own virtual company. Student employees actively compete all year in a wide range of competitions such as the National Business Plan Competition, Ad Futures, Mini Networking Events, Branding, Salesmanship, E-Commerce Website, Catalog, Video, Global Business Challenge, and NYC Trade Show.

The student led company had great success this year coming in 3rd at their AdFutures Advertising Campaign Competition, 2nd at the Local Business Plan Competition, scoring in the top 5% Citywide Written Business Plan, 1st Place Ethics Competition, and Honorable Mentions for their Elevator Pitch and Branding Competitions.

To gain real world practice, they would like to host an end of year celebration with real world employee appreciation recognition awards. In holding such an event that celebrates success, the student management and human resource departments will develop skills in modeling professional leadership characteristics and behavior as well as develop and encourage younger students to have a growth mind-set.

In Their Own Words

After working hard and competing all year long, we would like to provide real world business practices for our student employees while celebrating accomplishments throughout the year. Our goal is to demonstrate to others that, whether win or loose, you have to take a risk but hard work pays off. Always go for it!

Our student led employees won quite a few competitions this year! A celebration of our career accomplishments will create an experience that will last a lifetime and by modeling professional behaviors with the underclassman we will ensure sustainability for our Teen Tech Toys company as we move on and prepare for college .

Our project is important because we want to encourage the younger entrepreneurship students to continue with the program, continue with the winning company we started, strive to be the best and take advantage of opportunities given. In doing so, you will improve your chances of success in both college and career choices.
