Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The second graders in my class love science! After reading books about butterflies, the students were captivated by the butterfly life cycle. I think the students would enjoy watching a live demonstration of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly in our own classroom! I would love to also add a ladybug experience as well. The students can view the life cycle of a ladybug.

This hands-on science experience would really enhance their knowledge of the butterfly and ladybug lifecycle and motivate them to learn about other animal life cycles.

The students would also be able to write and draw each stage of the butterfly and ladybug cycle. The students will contribute to our environment by raising butterflies that will carry pollen to help flowers create seeds. This would be an enjoyable, engaging classroom project. I am requesting books about ladybugs and butterflies for students to read and models of each cycle.
