My Students

Celebrate Life. We do it from the day we are all born. And, as my kindergarten students reach this point in the school year, we are all ready to celebrate the life that is happening right before our very eyes. From caterpillars to butterflies, eggs to chickens, and everything in between.

I teach and guide an amazing and eager group of 24 five and six year old kindergarten students.

We attend a neighborhood elementary school in one of the fastest growing areas in South Carolina. Since the beginning of the school year, I have allowed my children to learn through exploration while I support and challenge them along the way. They become more responsible for their own learning and interest in a variety of subject matter increases along the way.

My Project

Like I said before, we've reached the point in the year when life is happening all around us. It is Spring. Flowers and blooming, chicks are hatching, and butterflies are beginning to emerge. I am in great need of supplemental materials to help make learning about life cycles more engaging and more meaningful for my students. We need the books to read, the kits with actual items from life cycles to sequence. I would love to share with the students an actual butterfly "nursery" and allow them to observe each step of that life cycle in person.
