About the Project

I love giving my students the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture and explore the rich and vibrant traditions of the Lunar New Year.They are a diverse group of learners who bring unique perspectives to the classroom, making every lesson engaging and dynamic.

They inspire me daily with their curiosity and determination to connect what they learn in class to the broader world.

Each resource I’m requesting will play a vital role in their learning:

* 2025 Lunar New Year chocolate coins and Chinese Good Luck Candy will immerse students in the festive traditions of the Lunar New Year. These treats will spark their curiosity about the cultural significance of food while making learning tangible and enjoyable.

* Red envelopes will give students a chance to practice writing Chinese characters and phrases, deepening their language skills while experiencing a cherished cultural tradition.

* The Chinese calligraphy sets will help students connect with the artistry of Chinese writing, enhancing their appreciation for the language and its cultural roots. Students can use the sets to practice Chinese calligraphy, write traditional Spring Festival couplets, and explore the beauty of Chinese New Year traditions. Additionally, these sets can be used year-round to study Chinese calligraphy and experiment with Chinese painting, deepening their understanding of the art forms associated with the language.

*2025 Year of the Snake Chinese Knots will offer a hands-on activity that combines art, symbolism, and tradition, helping students learn about the importance of the snake in Chinese culture while creating something meaningful.

These resources will transform the classroom into a vibrant space where students can celebrate, learn, and experience the Lunar New Year firsthand, making their language and cultural studies both memorable and impactful.
