I coordinate an academy which focuses on the use of technology in the arts. Our focus areas are video production and broadcast journalism. Our students are low-income, inner-city, and often first-generation immigrants or first-generation college-bound students. Ours is the only academy on campus who does not yet receive state funding, though we plan to apply for some once grant season reopens. In the meantime, we appreciate any donations you can make to us, be it for this project or for future endeavors.
My Project
Students would use headphones while editing cross-curricular assignments between English Language Arts and Video Production/Broadcast Journalism.
Caver Connection is SDHS's monthly video news show.
Students would use both English and AVID time to engage in script writing, storyboarding and camera shot design, and audio engineering.
iTech is the third and newest academy at SDHS SciTech, and we do not yet have state funding or a grant. We hope that your generosity will help jump start our academy, which will aid in recruitment and in obtaining the aforementioned funding.
Thank you in advance for helping these wonderful students. They will do you proud.
