My Students

Tablets Cases and Headphones provide access!

My students need these cases and headphones to access the Fire Tablets in the classroom.

My students are from an urban area where their starting point in life is dramatically behind their suburban peers. They often don't have the funds for basic necessities needed to succeed in school. They also have special needs, which requires even more supplies and learning materials to reach the level of their general education peers. They often have parents who aren't present, come from homeless shelters, or live in situations where they aren't able to afford supplies. Technology in the classroom can make all the difference in their education.

All my students are classified emotionally disturbed and some with multiple disabilities on their individualized education plans. My students exhibit extreme outburst, tantrums, and crisis. This is why my class size is a self-contained group of 12. All of my students are behind due to a learning disability or behavior. Technology is vital to instruction in my classroom. Technology is a great way to provide independent and differentiated work for my students in an autonomous way.

My Project

Cases and headphones are essential to using technology in my classroom. My classroom has 12 Fire tablets but due to the aggressive behavior of my students' cases are needed for the tablets protection. All my students are classified emotionally disturbed and/or multiple disabilities on their individualized education plans. This means that there are outburst and tantrums that occur in my room daily.

Even though my students are little scholars they oftentimes have accidents that will result in the damage of technology.

The cases will help prevent damage to the fire tablets. The fire tablets are to help students improve in literacy and math. My students need headphones to be able to listen to on grade level books and work independently on their own level without fear of feeling “lower” then their peers. Moreover, my students can use headphones as to not distract each other with the noise level. The headphones also assist with sensory sensitivities in my classroom.

Cases are needed to allow students to use the Fire tablets and the headphones allow students to be independent without judgment.
