My Students

My students are from a small, rural school in Western New York. They come in every day with smiles on their faces ready for a new day of learning and adventures. They are loving, kind, eager to learn and enthusiastic about school.

We spend a great deal of time building connections and relationships.

It is important for us to feel a strong connection to our class community and school community. As a result of these interpersonal relationships, the students strive for personal success while encouraging peer success with empathy and support. When they feel this support and empowerment, the learning is the fun part.

I'm so proud of the learners and citizens they are!

My Project

Having a common meeting area to gather during lessons will help promote a collaborative learning community. It will also allow all the students to be comfortable and ready to learn. I want the students to feel invited and welcomed. This rug will allow each student to have a place and fell like they belong. I want everyone to fit.

I plan a variety of lessons and activities throughout the day.

Some lessons and activities are whole group while others include small groups and partner work. A large carpet will give the students another option to sit at and do their best.
