My students need literary inspiration to understand how important our earth and greater community are. We also need grabber tools for community service opportunities.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are eager to learn and love our close-knit community. Each kiddo is unique in their learning style, academic strengths and, of course, personality. They enjoy being creative and learning in new and unexpected ways. We love to be moving around and collaborating with one another whenever we can.
Most of all my kiddos enjoy sharing, joking and being around one another.
We're a big, wonderful, goofy family in our school and luckily we surrounded by an equally wonderful community.
My Project
These materials will help me to teach my students about the importance of taking care of our earth as well as our greater community. The books I am requesting will be the launching point for projects that help my kiddos to make a difference. I have chosen books with themes on Earth Day, recycling, the importance of nature and what happens to trash. Other impactful books I chose focus on hunger, homelessness and stories of kids and families less fortunate. These books will help to get important conversations started in an age appropriate way. In this project I have also requested grabber tools to help put our Earth Day clean up project into action. These tools will keep my kids safe while they work hard to clean up our community.
Through literary inspiration my students will see though they are small, their impact can be mighty.
I want to help them to become aware of what is going on all around us and what they can do to help. Let's be doers and not just dreamers.
Whether it is recycling, planting a tree, starting a food drive, donating shoes or clothes, these kids can make a difference in the lives of others and hopefully inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
