My Project
Our Title 1 elementary school serves students from low-income families who sometimes struggle to afford basic personal care hygiene items and healthy snacks. The Care Closet at our school wants to continue to address this need by providing students with essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and healthy snacks. By ensuring that students have access to these items, we believe we can help them feel more confident and comfortable, ultimately leading to improved academic success.
Having access to personal care hygiene items can significantly impact a student's ability to focus and participate in school activities.
Additionally, feeling self-conscious about body odor or appearance can impact a student's self-esteem and confidence. By providing these items through the Care Closet, we can help remove these barriers to learning and create a more positive and inclusive school environment. The goal of this project is to ensure that all students at our school have their basic needs met so they can focus on their education and reach their full potential. Our students are strong and hardworking, but many face challenges outside of school that can impact their academic success.
