My students are creative middle schoolers who are interested in exploring the world of art. Students manipulate a variety of media in our classroom as they find a variety of solutions to challenges they approach with visual answers.
Our school is a great place for learning, and I am proud of the accomplishments of our students, which include recognition at local, state, and national competitions.
In addition to achieving this success, my students are interested in giving back to the community through a variety of service-learning projects.
My Project
In this project, students will both take and star in photographs that capture who they are and what makes them unique. They will have to think about the backdrop, props, and other non-verbal cues when visualizing and making their photograph.
Using the Instax Camera, the collection of images created will be showcased at our Winter and Spring Art Shows and highlight what makes our students unique.
After this work is displayed, each image will be given to students and arranged for another collaboration or taken home as a memory from the school year.
Learning about a variety of photographic techniques is something that is important for art students and this project will allow them to get a hands-on experience with film, create and participate in a collaborative work, and showcase their own unique voice and vision within a work.
