My students are hard workers! They are motivated and excited about learning. In keeping my students staying positive and motivated I reward them for academics as well as positive behavior with dojo points and treats. Each week we also vote on the scholar of the week based on different criteria.
For this project, I am requesting items for our class store.
Students earn dojo points daily for following directions, attendance, completing tasks, and showing exemplary behavior in and outside of the classroom. Each Friday students can redeem points by shopping in our class store. The scholar of the week receives a bag of goodies based on a list of their favorite things. For this project, I am adding items and activities that students can purchase in the store as well as receive in their student of the week bag.
I have a total of 64 students within 3 classes and I have been the main source of funding the store. I purchase what I can but recently had to temporarily close until I can replenish supplies. I am looking to acquire more supplies such as trinkets, stuffed animals, journals, key chains, unique pens/pencils, and additional sweet treats. I like having a variety of goodies so the students are not bored and look forward to Fridays when they can make purchases with earned reward points. This also is a math activity because students must keep track of their point balance, calculate what they are purchasing and then give a remaining balance after their calculation. This project will help make our class store exciting and something to look forward to.
