Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My ELL (English Language Learner) Kindergarten students would greatly benefit from the hands-on potential that would come with having a digital camera in our classroom. Because I work in a high-need area, most of my students have had very limited educational experiences prior to starting in my classroom. Many of my students started the school year knowing little to no English, so it would be great to have a digital camera to capture their learning, build picture stories, and help them make connections with their world while building vocabulary. During small group time, I would love to be able to document my students' learning by recording their reading fluency. The students could review their reading video, reflect on their growth, then set future goals. Having a digital camera in my classroom would be a great way to help me integrate fun, excitement, and technology into our everyday activities and lessons. Since my students are like sponges, I can only imagine the possibilities of how they can grow and develop their Reading and language skills with your help!
