Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves a population of over 94% of students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. It's a cozy school that sits in a quiet neighborhood in southwest Denver. The students in our school are the shining gems of this community! They bring it to life and they bring me to work everyday! I want this classroom transformation because they deserve it. They deserve a place that meets the needs of their young minds and bodies, reading, sitting, stretching, rocking, whatever they need, fueling their energy to help their minds grow!
I feel like this is my opportunity to try to give my students something special!
It's my first year at my new school, and the first time teaching reading after several years. We need cozy spaces and a new library! This project will provide my students with a cutting-edge learning environment and beautiful new books that I wouldn't otherwise be able to provide. Your kind donation will support their learning, and the learning of my future students, in ways they've never experienced before!
My Project
My teaching journey has taken me to a new school. I'm so excited to share my new space with my amazing new students, but I need your help. They deserve a cozy place, full of beautiful books that reflect who they are because books are mirrors (they can see themselves) and they are also windows (they let us see others). Students will devour these books and share these beautiful stories with their friends and family.
